Something Saturday - Inchie equivalent card for those with an A4 Brain!

Image
Hi there Creators, Well today I thought I'd have a go at an "inchie" card, only mine (unsurprisingly for me) aren't inchies! The idea behind it is that you have inch squares, which get attached to a background paper (which has been scored up before hand so you have lines to attach your inchies to, and embossed with an embossing folder, which then deletes the score lines. However, as you have to cut your base card down to create an inchie card, I decided to do things "my way" hence "equivalent for an A4 brain" Here are the 2 Inchie cards I received the first one from Simone my up-line as a swap at the Stampin' Up!event. She's used the beautiful vibrant Flowering Zinnias designer series paper and the second from Lee-Allan one of my down-line (which uses some paper that now I need to buy 🤣) check it out for yourself:  Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper then I got onto creating one - my size using retired Designer Papers (you can never

Something Saturday - Last minute card for Christmas

Image
Hi There Creators, I thought we'd squeeze in a last minute - ultra simple Christmas card, all you need is a bit of Designer paper, a brown "stick" and an appropriate saying, oh and a round die, or small round plate (and scissors) So.... here it is: I have used:  Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper (retiring soon), Deckled Circle Dies , and the lovely Brightest Glow Stamp se t. Oh just as a little extra the little swirls on the corners of the top card were made using the M from Merry   Check out the quick video below to see how to create these easy trees.  Hope you all have a lovely Christmas God Bless love Heather xox

Something Saturday - Pop out Concertina Christmas Tree Card

Image
Hi There Creators Today I'm showing you how to create a card that has a pop-out element in the middle which just happens to be a Christmas tree (surprise, surprise as it's almost Christmas!) I've used the fabulous Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper, which sadly is on the retiring list 😔 Here is the middle of the first card I created before the video: and the outside of the card..... I wasn't 100% happy with the tree inside the card of that one, I'd used a 1" scoring gap, and I think it was too much, so this one I did in the video I used a 3/4" score gap, which I'm much happier with, and it left me room at the top for a star😁, which I got from the Handcrafted Elements Dies (plus the ornament I used on the front of the card) I think this designer paper is so beautiful, love the brightness, it really works for anything, doesn't have to be Christmas!, although looking at this photo, I'm thinking I should bling up the ornament with

Something Saturday - Fancy Fold Tube Card

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I'm "caseing" a card from one of my downline.  LeeAllan sent me this card, isn't it great? So, the card she sent me was made not with A4 cardstock in mind (and I'm an A4 girl!) so I had to change the measurements a bit, then I couldn't keep the same design and added a bar at the top, so I could dangle a Christmas ornament, so Da Daaaa....... For this card I used a saying from Brightest Glow ,  The Tartan Foil Specialty Designer Paper , More Dazzle Designer Paper, and the star of the show Handcrafted Elements Dies . During the video I make this next card, I've put the bar onto the bottom with this card, really the bar could go at any height!  This one uses the Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series paper, Oh my goodness it's gorgeous! and the saying comes from Circle Sayings Stamp set. Onto the measurements...... Take an A5 piece of cardstock, fold in 1/2 at 10.5cm, then the front is scored at: 2.6cm, 5.2cm and 7.8cm thi

Something Saturday - Meandering Meadows Mini Cards

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I'm showing you how to create 5 really cute mini cards with a single sheet of this gorgeous Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper (it's an Online Exclusive, in case you're wondering why you haven't seen it in the catalogue) - check the link out to see it! In the catalogue are these cute 3" square mini envelopes (I rediscovered mine the other day) hence this post came about. 😃 Sometimes you just want a mini card to go with something! First things first, let's show you the cards, then give you the measurements, and the video The first set I made up before the video are these ones: bear in mind that there is a different design on both sides of the paper, I've also used the Adhesive Backed Dragonflies & Birds , they actually remind me of the Brushed Brass Butterflies that are in the annual catalogue (which I use a fair bit)  I've also used the Double Oval Punch (bit of a favourite punch - such a handy size)!  The Circle

Something Saturday - Cool Christmas Bauble

Image
Hi there Creators,  So in the run up to Christmas I thought I should show you this bauble I came across the other day in YouTube "Elena's Craft Studio - How to make a Christmas ball from toilet roll".  I'm upping the ante and going with Designer Paper, rather than toilet roll🤣 Anyway photos are always way more exciting than me waffling on (and they do say a picture says a thousand words)  Oh wow 2000 words already done!🤣 The first one I made with retired cardstock, just to try it out, I'm pretty sure in her video she used 13cm x 1cm strips, but I didn't see the harm in using 14.8cm x 1cm (as then it's 1/2 A4 length)  however turns out you need more strips if you make it larger!  ha, who knew?  anyway I still like the look and you get 8 petals instead of 6, so the one I show in the video I made up using the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper , I scaled it down to the 13cm long, and end up with 6 petal shapes. I love the different designs on the

Cards for December Classes

Image
Hi there Creators Wow we're at the end of the year again! my goodness that has come round fast!  Last card class for the year, of course focusing on Christmas cards.  Card class dates are: Maryborough: Saturday 2nd at 10.30am, then Wednesday 6th 10.30am and Thursday 7th at 7pm in my classroom in Laanecoorie.  Class cost is $24 for 4 cards - if you're coming please do let me know, and let's have a Christmas Celebration!  NB: the Maryborough class date is different to the one I originally had advertised as our Carol service at church is the following weekend and we have a rehearsal all day Saturday! Onto the cards: I had to use the Light the Sky bundle again, it's really one of my favourites! I've also discovered the absolutely gorgeous Rose Gold Specialty Paper , ummmm This next card I thought was kind of fun!  Using the Modern Oval punch to create the little bags, and the Merry Bold & Bright Designer paper , I felt it went well with the nice bold saying from

Fancy Fold Dangly Card

Image
Hi there Creators,  Today we're looking at a fancy fold card, that I really don't know if I've seen it somewhere, but I do know I went to make something completely different and this is what happened......🤣 Here are the cards I've made: (measurements as promised in the video, below) This is the first card I made up you can see the dangly "Happy Birthday" in the middle. An aerial view.... And the card I made in the video On to the measurements: You'll need a sheet of A4 cardstock, some designer paper and another coloured card to mat the designer paper, 2 bits of twine around 13cm each, 2 stamped sayings and a punch or die to cut them out to an appropriate size. cut the A4 card down to A5, and fold in 1/2 at 10.5cm, then fold both sides back (at 5.25cm), so it looks like both cards are concertina'd (top card I used Smoky Slate, bottom card Very Vanilla) Take one of these and cut the smallest circle into the middle of it I've used the Deckled Circles
