Something Saturday - Citrus Blooms

Image
Hi There Creators Today I thought it would be fun to try out a technique I haven't done in ages - Paper Tole, using the new Citrus Blooms stamp set and dies.  Every so often I come across a stamp set that inspires me to do a spot of Paper Tole'ing, and this one has lots of dimension to it perfect for this technique. To those of you who are saying "Paper Tole-what-ing?"  Paper Tole is a way of taking a picture and literally adding dimension by having several images of the same picture a and cutting out the various parts of it and laying them up, so the picture literally builds up and gives a 3D type image. I thought it would make a beautiful framed piece (and a nice gift for a friend) - let me know what you think.... I did team it up with the fabulous sayings from Unbounded Love Stamp set (the dies that go with this stamp set are a must have!)   Then to create shiny bits I've added some of the fine tip glue pen which dries shiny clear😍 I also said in the video I&

Something Saturday - Merry Bold & Bright

Image
Hi there Creators Today I thought we'd have a play with the cute Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper , I made up this card before the video: For this one I've ended up stamping the sentiment from Joy to You stamp set , then clear heat embossing over the top (if you stamp with a normal ink it will rub straight off vellum, so you have to set it in place).  I did initially stamp directly onto the cardstock, but discovered that the paper is a little bit too busy for that, and it didn't show up, but I love using vellum, as you can still see the images through it (it's like adding a "transparency shape" to a picture in Word, which I also love doing)  How cool is the White Iridescent ribbon ?  and you can see the little Iridescent Adhesive backed discs in the corners of the vellum (ooo goldfish..... shiny..... )🤣 Then in the video I end up making a sleeve/wrapping for a couple of blingy gifts I'm sending off to people, very simple, cut the cardstock t

Something Saturday - Light The Sky

Image
Hi there Creators Hands up if you love fireworks!  I love the beauty of them, the colours lighting up the night sky, so when this set "Light the Sky" came out in the mini catalogue, I knew I'd end up buying it.  Have to say it has not disappointed me 😍 I forgot to mention in the video, that there is still a joining offer for Stampin' Up! this month, if you are interested in finding out more about joining Stampin' Up! and my CreateAbles Team, do ask me, or check out the details here: Join Stampin' Up! Today I had pre-created these 2 cards, and whilst making the second one, that uses blending brushes and inks to create the graduated ombre-type background, I noticed that I was creating a pretty cool pattern on the scrap paper underneath, hence in the video I make the last card using the dies to create masks to use. Card 1:  I've heat embossed the stamped images with gold embossing powder , then added the Gold foil cardstock underneath, so it shines through

Something Saturday - Stars at Night Hybrid

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I'm showing you one of my new favourites! Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing folder , this is a 3D folder plus a set of 14 matching dies. Here are the die cuts: In the video I suggest a way to emboss the stars so they don't get squashed, so here goes...... I suggest you emboss a piece of cardstock first through the embossing folder, then cut out with the dies, whichever stars from it you're likely to use, see the photo below. (this will squash these stars flat!)  Then cut yourself blank stars using the dies, and slot them into the embossing folder using your pre-cut template to guide where they should sit.  Voila perfectly cut and embossed stars 😍   I don't actually make up any of the cards in the video, so here are a couple that I did make up afterwards.  I've used the beautiful Winter Meadow Designer Paper with a bit of Smoky Slate cardstock behind it,  the Adhesive Backed Star trinkets are the tiny stars, and the Blooming Pearls are the

Something Saturday - Bleach and More Wishes

Image
Hi there Creators Today I was playing with the fabulous More Wishes Stamp set, one of my favourite saying's/word sets in the annual catalogue is Biggest Wish and I was excited to see More Wishes which uses the same fonts and lettering size so they coordinate together. I was trying to work out a way to coordinate them in with a piece of designer paper from the gorgeous Joy of Christmas designer Paper, by drawing lines onto my stamp, but as it didn't work terribly well, my eye spied my bleach and voila: I think it's a kind of fun way to create a different effect, all I've done is used a paint brush and bleach.  Stamp the saying first then add the bleach dotted around, I think the above card looks like someone's thrown snowballs at it!  To see what I've used click here: What Heather Used Then I may have got a bit carried away, and couldn't resist creating way more with the gorgeous paper, and trying out what the bleach looked like with the different colours.

Something Saturday - What you can do with the Enamel Effects

Image
Hi there Creators, Well I've been working on it for a while but finally here it is (a non-exhaustive) compilation of what you can do with the Enamel effects and here is the cute little roundup of bottles:   First up there are 2 Packs of these, one is Metallic and one Pearlized (check them out with the links) they're both packs of 3 and cost $27 for the pack.  NOTE WELL: they are NOT water soluble, as I discovered after allowing some to dry on my silicone mat!  A couple of factors seem to change drying time, temperature (when its colder it seems to take long to dry), and how thick it is applied obviously affects it.  Having said that we used it in class the other day to create dots on our project and the cards were dry by around 15 mins.  In the video I show off (not in this order): You can mix them with Isocol to create a spray (looks like a starry night on dark cardstock) You can squeeze them onto mini glue dots and create your own sizes of pearls with built in sticky backs
