Something Saturday - Inchie equivalent card for those with an A4 Brain!

Image
Hi there Creators, Well today I thought I'd have a go at an "inchie" card, only mine (unsurprisingly for me) aren't inchies! The idea behind it is that you have inch squares, which get attached to a background paper (which has been scored up before hand so you have lines to attach your inchies to, and embossed with an embossing folder, which then deletes the score lines. However, as you have to cut your base card down to create an inchie card, I decided to do things "my way" hence "equivalent for an A4 brain" Here are the 2 Inchie cards I received the first one from Simone my up-line as a swap at the Stampin' Up!event. She's used the beautiful vibrant Flowering Zinnias designer series paper and the second from Lee-Allan one of my down-line (which uses some paper that now I need to buy 🤣) check it out for yourself:  Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper then I got onto creating one - my size using retired Designer Papers (you can never

Something Saturday - 3 Uses for the Beautiful Balloons Striped Die

Image
Hi there Creators,  Oooo multiple uses for one die, excellent!  I'm wondering if some other clever people out there have thought of more uses for this die🤣 Here is the die..... Check out the whole bundle here: Beautiful Balloons Bundle there actually is an entire suite (which I wish I'd bought now!!) Beautiful Balloons Suite   Anyway my 3 ways are using the die as fringing, as in this card: kind of like one a flapper skirt, I've used the stunning Dry Brushed Metallic Paper to create this one, OH WOW it's blingy!😍  Have to admit once I'd made it I really didn't know how to add the saying, ended up choosing to heat emboss black on vellum so you can see through it a little, and attached it with a couple of the brads.   The other 2 ways are incorporated into the next card, the first being that you allow cardstock on both sides of the die, then thread ribbon in and out to create a dash effect (go the Morse code 🤣)  Then the other way is to cut the card in the

Something Saturday - Faux Silk

Image
Hi there Creators Today I thought we'd delve into Faux Silk using the tissue paper that has sat on my desk for quite some time now.  If you're a regular viewer/reader you might recall a few weeks ago my UFO video where I used up a (sadly smaller than I'd hoped) portion of my unfinished objects from my crafting desk, and amidst the scraps was a piece of tissue paper that came from a pack of window sheeting, which I mentioned at the time I'd kept for this very purpose, finally I have used it! so.... here are the projects I made up with it: Here is the one I made up in the video, check out what I used in this card here: What Heather Used and this one I made up after, as a card to send off to my Mum  this one I've added some gilded leafing to and also a spot of heat embossing in gold around the label, check out what I used for this card here: What Heather Used , I have used the new Cheerful Daisies bundle  (such a great bundle)     thought I'd better show a close u

Something Saturday - It's a Wrap Card

Image
Hi there Creators,  Today's video is about an "envelope fold card" but in typical Heather style I had to change it round 🤣 I really wanted to not have to cut/discard any of my 6x6" Designer Paper and to be able to just use it wrapped round the card, with minimal effort.  Admittedly there is a bit of lining up that is required, but generally it's quite simple, and I think the result is worth it, just a little bit different!😁 Anyway enough waffling, here is the card I made before the video:  I used a designer paper that's now retired but the dies are from All That Die set. As you can see the envelope type flap on the side tucks in under the raised saying And the back gets decorated up at the same time 😊 Then the card I made up in the video is this one:  I've used the new Bright & Beautiful Papers with matching Beautiful Balloons Bundle (stamps & dies)  I don't know what it is about this bundle/suite that appeals to me so much but I think it

Something Saturday - Easy One Layer Card

Image
Hi there Creators,  Today I'm showing you a deceptively simple and a bit of an optical illusion sort of card. Potentially I should have called it a "no layer" card.  Ben (oldest son) saw them and was impressed with the fact these cards are only the base card, here they are: This first set is continuing into the new catalogue Natures Prints Stamp set  I've teamed it up with the returning colour Pretty Peacock and the Online exclusive Loose Frosted Dots . (not adhesive backed but easy enough to add with a dot of glue!) This second card uses a retiring stamp set Dragonfly Garden (and yay reduced from $41 to $16.40! - although if it's still available and you want it you only have until 1st May!) so click the link and order it now! I've teamed it up with Orchid Oasis ink pad and Iridescent Rhinestones (so pretty) The card below uses the cute Party Puffins stamp set, again a retiring set (and reduced from $35 to $21, bargain!)  and a spot of retiring bling too!

Cards for May classes

Image
Hi there Creators It's that time again, where I show off next months class cards.  The class dates are Wednesday 3rd May 10.30am in Laanecoorie, Thursday 4th at 7pm in Laanecoorie, then Saturday 6th at 10.30am in Maryborough.  New Catalogues should be with everyone by now, if you don't have one and want one, get in touch! Just a heads up that this month will still be $20 for the 4 cards, however due to rising costs I do need to increase my prices, and I'll be increasing by $1 per card - so $24 for the 4 cards.  Here goes..... First up I've used the new Zoo Crew (that will be available from 2nd May) to create this cute card Then after showing a friend how to use these Give it a Whirl Dies the other day I figured we should do this in class too (they're so much fun!)  I've teamed it up with Alphabest and Waves of Inspiration so the wheel says U R Totally Awesome, as it goes round Back to new stuff again, and this time the gorgeous Cheerful Daisies Stamp set (it

Something Saturday - Bits & Pieces

Image
Hi there Creators Today was definitely a bits & pieces day!  I had a bit of clean up of my crafting desk, and in the video I give a quick tour of my craft room (exceedingly messy, but hey that's the way I work!)  And let's face it we all like to gig at other peoples crafting space 🤣 Anyway I have this "little" (actually it kind of grows) area at the back of my desk that ends up with all those UFO's (unfinished objects).  Today I pulled them all forwards and that's what my video is primarily on, I've teamed up some of my UFO's with retiring bling  (gotta love Bling!) and used up a disappointingly small amount of it!   I think I need to have people over to use up my UFO's (and take them away with them!!)   Any volunteers? Alright well, moving on to the actual cards I did make up..... (somewhat Christmassy theme going on here! Ah well never to early to make Christmas cards😁)  I do mention in the video that I'll give you links to the bling

Something Saturday - Elegant Border Dies

Image
Hi There Creators, Today we're checking out these absolutely gorgeous Elegant Border Dies, they are an "OnLine Exclusive" thing, so you can't find them in the catalogue, however there is hope!  check out this link:  Elegant Border Dies .  As soon as I saw them I knew they were keepers!  not in the least bit masculine 🤣 Anyway in the video I simply show them and cut them out, unless you stayed right till the end in which case you'll have seen the cards I'm showing off here: The blue card uses Starry Sky and Bermuda Bay inks rubbed onto the card using the blending brushes, and silver heat embossing for the saying. I wanted this card to Pop, so I chose the Parakeet Party as the base, and the Fine Shimmer Paper is just stunning for the butterflies.  I also mention in the video that I have mixed up gold & silver embossing powder to do the saying, as it kind of ends up a champagne sort of colour which went better than the gold or silver on their own would hav
