Something Saturday - Inchie equivalent card for those with an A4 Brain!

Image
Hi there Creators, Well today I thought I'd have a go at an "inchie" card, only mine (unsurprisingly for me) aren't inchies! The idea behind it is that you have inch squares, which get attached to a background paper (which has been scored up before hand so you have lines to attach your inchies to, and embossed with an embossing folder, which then deletes the score lines. However, as you have to cut your base card down to create an inchie card, I decided to do things "my way" hence "equivalent for an A4 brain" Here are the 2 Inchie cards I received the first one from Simone my up-line as a swap at the Stampin' Up!event. She's used the beautiful vibrant Flowering Zinnias designer series paper and the second from Lee-Allan one of my down-line (which uses some paper that now I need to buy 🤣) check it out for yourself:  Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper then I got onto creating one - my size using retired Designer Papers (you can never

Something Saturday - What to do with your left over cut off's

Image
Hi there Creators As I cleaned up my desk to do a video and wondered what I should video about, I came across a heap of cut off pieces in varying colours, and just knew what I should be doing..... So I made the video, then got it loaded up onto my laptop and discovered it was out of focus! grrr, so the next day I tried again, which means that now I have 2 lots of cards to show you 🤣 Well at least something good came of it (plus of course I used more of my scraps) I'll show you them in the order I made them....  this first one I thought I'd stick to 2 main colours, white and red, with green base card thought I'd also share with you how the saying came to have a torn edge....well, I stamped it directly onto the card first, and this happened - just goes to show you should stamp the image on scrap paper first before putting ink to your main card!, so I thought never mind I'll stamp on spare card, and cut it out in a neat rectangle, ha ha! I stamped, all good, then the cut

Something Saturday - Card in a Box

Image
Hi there Creators Well I made a card in a box a couple of years ago and since then it's been going to craft shows with me and people have commented on it and asked if I had a tutorial, so I thought maybe it's high time I did one! I also didn't entirely like the design I did the first time, so this gave me time to refine it a bit here's my original one: I decided I wasn't keen on the fact that it completely opens up and takes up a fair bit of space, so here's the one I made in the video: As you can see I've left the back 2 pieces joined, so it creates a kind of wall, I thought it would look kind of cool if you could see a bit of a reflection of the back of the cake, using the gold foil.  Plus I absolutely adore this stamp set: Artistically Inked stamp set , along with some of the Gilded Leafing (kind of satisfies my gold craving 🤣)  I always find using Tombow (Multi purpose Liquid Glue) and Tear & Tape Adhesive works well to add the gilded leafing to.

Something Saturday - Ripped Cards

Image
Hi there Creators, today I was mulling over what it would look like if rather than curling the ends like I did to create the scroll cards, I just ripped the cardstock, I rather like the effect and *bonus* you get 2 cards out of one ripping session 🤣 (and let's face it there's a certain satisfaction gained from ripping paper! lol) Ok so the first 2 cards I'd made before the video, I had ripped kind of "triangles" out.  You'll need 2 pieces of Designer Paper (probably with a smallish pattern would be best), and you attach the ripped off pieces to one and the remainder to the other: The first card shows the piece that I ripped the bits out of, and the second is the ripped out pieces. I used designer paper and white cardstock that measured 9.5cm x 13.8cm that way I could add a mat if I wanted to of 10cm x 14.3cm (which I did in the second lot of cards)  I've gone with using the beautiful Hues of Happiness Designer Papers , and my "go to" sayings st

Something Saturday - Give it a Whirl Dies

Image
Hi There Creators My video this week is on how to use the Give it a Whirl Dies (kind of wishing I'd got them sooner!)  Anyway I show off how I use them, and showed these first 2 cards that I'd created, since then I've made up the next 2, so it shows off all the 4 windows/apertures in the die set. This first card uses the Trees for Sale Stamp set  This second card uses the fabulous Alphabest bundle (stamps and punch)  I couldn't fit all the letters in a row, but I think it works ok lol. Then these last 2 are the ones I hadn't made up in the video, I went with Love, Joy and Peace in the rectangular peep hole, and embossed the front with the Whimsical Woodland 3D folder   Thought I'd better show you what I used to sandwich the 2 parts together, so the spinner piece will spin! these Foam Adhesive strips are so useful.       And I got the clouds in - Yay! lol this card I just added the designer paper to the whole wheel so as it moves round it's constant flowe

Hi there Creators, Well isn't August sneaking up on us fast!  We're back to our usual 3 classes in August: Wed 3rd at 10.30am (Laanecoorie), Thursday 4th 7pm (Laanecoorie) and Saturday 6th 10.30am (Maryborough). $20 for the 4 cards - You need to book for Laanecoorie, Maryborough you can just turn up, (although it's nice for me to know approx numbers) I hope you can come and join us (more the merrier!) Anyway on to the cards for the month...... First up I'm using the fabulous Wonderful World (we only have till the end of August to use it, so I thought I'd better!)  It's a Sale-a-Bration set, and combined with the designer papers you need to spend $180 to get both the stamps and papers for free (no other way to get them 😢)  Combined with the Decorative Circle Punch , and the gorgeous Sequins & Gems (that seriously look all like gems rather than sequins! - so pretty!) Moving on to more "prettiness" if that's a word - if not I'm going with i

Something Saturday - Elastic Bands

Image
Hi there Creators Yep I'm using elastic bands to stamp with this week!  Actually you can get some really cool patterns for your backgrounds by twisting rubber bands round your clear blocks and using them to stamp. It's quite a short video this week, and I don't finish off the cards so here they are for you to check out.... this is the one I had made up to begin with using the really cute Sale-a-Bration set  Hippest Hippos , I've coloured in the little ballerina with Stampin' Blends , and it really makes her pop out of the page!  I've also used the Decorative Circle Punch to punch her out. The other 2 cards were an "either/or" situation as I ended up double siding them with pattern, so this is the side I chose for this one, and it the blue streaks reminded me of ice, so I couldn't resist using this Snow Crystal Stamp (have to admit it's one of my favourites at the moment!)   This one was also stamped on both sides, but I really liked the grun

Something Saturday -Snow Crystal Stamp 3 colour heat embossed

Image
Hi there Creators, In my video this week I show how to pop 3 different embossing powders onto this gorgeous Snow Crystal (159821 $37) stamp set. Here are the cards I have made up after the video with the embossed pieces: I decided the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty paper went really well with it, so the first has the rose gold and the 2nd has the gold.  I've picked out a a saying from Trees for Sale (159785 $39), which also goes with the "Tree Lot" dies (a Sale-a-bration set you can get for free when you purchase $180)  I  might try and show this off next week actually, as it's got a really cute caravan in it too, umm stay tuned...... You'll notice these also have a pretty little sequin in the middle too, this is from the new Adhesive Backed Sequins and Gems (159972 $13.25)  I have to say that the sequins look more like gems, and I thought they were till I went to pick one off the backing! Oh and, to do the saying, as it is all on one line, I have "
