Something Saturday - DSP & Blends

Image
Hi There Creators Today I thought I'd show off an idea that Claire our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Development Manager showed us in a workshop the other day, I took it a bit further in one of my cards, let me know which card is your favourite! If you'd like to see all the goodies I used on these cards click here:  DSP & Blends Turtles Cards Here are the cards I ended up creating The first 2 I've just used the blends to go round each of the images on the designer paper, I really love the way the images get highlighted from it, almost a "stained glass effect" This first card I also used the blend on the white card base under the Designer Paper to give a border This second card I used the Blend around the edge of the Designer paper to draw a line  (I did use a ruler to do this!) again to create a border. Then this last one I've gone round the edges again with the darker Pool Party blend, but then blended in the lighter one in all the gaps. I actually did g...

Something Saturday - Budget Make-it-yourself present

 Hi there Creators,

Hands up if you like a cheap, classy looking, hand-made Gift🤣 Oh I'm so glad you asked Heather (I can hear you saying, and would you look at that, Christmas is just round the corner - that's convenient! 😃)

Ok, so I think this is a great little Christmas gift for anyone who has pens or pencils (well that's just about covered everyone!)  All you need is a tin - in my case the cats finally came through with something useful, Aldi Cat food tins (managed to wean them off the expensive Whiskars, shhh don't tell them, the cans are the same colour), some cardstock, and some Designer Paper.

Here goes...... here are the 2 pencil tins I made up, see measurements below

Oh and I promised in the video to show you my can opener, it's a Kleva range one, and it leaves a nice rounded edge to the can

Measurements are: (for Aldi Cat can)

Inside and outside plain colour (I recommend using a darker colour for the inside, so pencil/pen marks don't show up so quickly on it)  10.5cm x 24.5cm

Designer Series Paper for the outside 3 3/4" x  9" (I used Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper for the top tin and Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper for the blue bottom tin)

Then the circle for the bottom inside and base of tin I've used the Deckled Circle Dies the one that is 6th from the centre.

If you missed the video, here it is:

I hope this inspires you to dig out your cans and have go too!

God Bless love

Heather xox
