Something Saturday - Cascading Pleated Fold Card

Image
Hi There Creators, I promised when I was showing off my swap cards from OnStage that I'd work out how to create a couple of cards I received. So, here we go, I have discovered they're called Cascading Pleated Fold Cards! (good start) Here are my 2 cards I made using this technique, I figured I could have a go at both landscape and portrait cards. 😍 The first one is made using the absolutely gorgeous Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper . It took a bit of cutting to get it right as I wanted each scene in front to echo the scene behind, but I think I got it! Then the card I made up in the video ended up like this, I've used the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper (which is happily continuing onto the next catalogue!), and the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (again continuing on)   Although Sam (Mr 13 year old) did ask what flavour ice-cream is that meant to be?  I said Chocolate & Boysenberry (Hummm, Ok Mum....) 🤣 Anyway on to the measurements.... I worked out that

Cards for Classes in May

Image
Hi Everyone, Wow isn't the year travelling fast!! Tomorrow is May, so here are the cards I'll be teaching in my classes, The dates are: Wednesday 3rd May 10.30am (meant to be in Bendigo, but the venue we usually use is unavailable, so it will be in my classroom for those who fancy the trip out), Saturday 6th May in Maryborough at 10am, and Wednesday 10th May at 7.30pm (my classroom in Laanecoorie)  Do let me know if you'd like to join in any of the classes :) first card uses the Watercolour Wings Stamp set , and the Bold Butterfly Framelits (on the retiring list), if you have the stamp set, but not the framelits, I recommend that you get on and purchase them quickly before they run out! Next up is this pretty flower from "You've Got This" stamp set , also a peek at one of the new In Colours, Lemon Lime Twist!, I think it looks so fresh, and a bit of Clear Wink of Stella over the flower I thought I should use up some of my favourite Designer Series Pa

Todays Fundraiser Event

Image
Hi Everyone, Well today was the day of the Crafting Fundraiser for the Loaves and Fishes.  We had 11 ladies there today, it was a really fabulous day!, I thought I'd show you all what we created, I had originally scheduled to create 4 projects, but turned out we had time for 5 😊 We started off the day with this notebook and pen set, We were using a gorgeous Stamp Set - Strength and Prayers, sadly retired and sold out :( and the beautiful "Falling in Love" Designer Series Paper, again retired and last I checked it was on the low inventory list :(  and the back of the notebook........ Then moved on to this card: As we still had 1/2 hour before lunch, I'd whipped up this extra card, first thing in the morning with a sneaky suspicion that I might need to fill in a bit more time (just as well I did!) this is such a fun card to make, I figured a group of ladies together, and we needed Handbags - lol the handbags themselves are made using the Best Ba

Oooo something new!

Image
Hi Everyone, well I know I've been on the "What's Retiring" game show, but I thought I might show you a little sneak peek of something that's coming - lol Stampin' Up! are bringing in early an ultra special "special" offer it will be available as a special offer from May 1st, then going into the new Annual Catalogue come June, so without further ado, let me introduce you to Eastern Palace Suite:   These first 3 cards are one that Stampin' Up! have given us instructions for (Ok so they're slightly different to the original Stampin' Up! ones, those of you who know me know that I don't tend to copy exactly - lol but they're not far off 😊) having said that they were a great starting ground for using the bundle of products. For anyone who purchases one of the deals on offer from 1st May from me I will send/give you the instructions for the above cards, and the 2 projects below. So then I branched out on my own with them a

Retring Products #4

Image
Hi Everyone, And we're back for another edition of What's retiring?....... Well that was interesting, I'd actually gone to do a post on the retiring butterfly punches last time, and somehow it turned into a Christmas extravaganza lol! However this time, we're going for the Butterflies!!  This first card has the Bitty Butterfly Punch , and also uses the Teeny tiny Sentiments Stamp set , such a useful set, (and thankfully not retiring!) The Bitty Butterfly punch is currently on the Low Inventory list, so if you want it get on and order it quick, or you'll miss out! Here I've used both punches Bitty Butterfly and the Elegant Butterfly punch , they layer so beautifully together: And just a couple more cards for good measure :) The second card uses the beautiful Watercolor Wings Stamp set (again not on the retiring list Yay!) Ok well that's my butterfly flutter over :) I hope these cards inspire you to create, and don't forget to check

Hi Everyone Yep I'm back again with another issue of What's retiring!  Sounds like a game show doesn't it? lol So up today we have Christmas featured: First up is the Embellished Ornament Stamp set and it's reduced to $17.50!!  Also the Delicate Ornament Thinlits also on reduced and now only $39.20! And just to show you can do something different with the thinlits: Also retiring is the Peaceful Pines Stamp set ( also reduced, down to $33.75) and matching Perfect Pines framelits (again reduced Yay! now $36) Conveniently enough the last card uses something else that's on it's way out Snow Flurry Punch !  and again it's reduced!  down to $18.60 (I didn't actually plan it this way to showcase the discounted stuff) funnily enough the Flurry of Wishes stamp set isn't on the retiring list, but the punch is! (go figure!) Don't forget if you're ordering to pop in the hostess code: KRGDPPJQ and you just might win some free stuf

What's retiring #2

Image
Hi Everyone,  I thought I'd carry on sharing some of the retiring bits with you,  this one, Star Blast edgelits and Birthday Blast Clear mount bundle yep it's on there:(  and both the Birthday Blast stamp set and the Star Blast Edgelit s are currently discounted if you buy them separately Stamp set down to $26.35 and edgelits down to $28 ($54.35 for both, which is cheaper than the bundled price!)  I think the dies are pretty cool, as you can make them stand up like the card above, or just use them flat as in the card below, the sayings are in a lovely font too, and when you cut out the stars you end up with the separate stars from the inside (bonus!)   Ok well that's it for now I hope this inspires you to create! God Bless love Heather xox

What's retiring......

Image
Hi Everyone, Oh my goodness I have printed out 6 pages of retiring products! there's a few things I'm really sad to see going! Some are reduced by up to 50%! (but you really best get in quick for those)  I've discovered some things are already sold out :( If you don't have the owl builder punch and always thought you'd get it, get on quick and order one! here he is just peeking out from the inside of the card! it also uses the Hardwood Stamp (not retiring yay!)   Very sad to see Gorgeous Grunge on the retiring list too as that's one I've used a LOT, great for backgrounds! Oh here it is paired with Better than Email (already gone!)  And one more for now, Birthday Fiesta , I loved this little Lama/Alpaca as soon as I saw him the stamp set is on low inventory as we "speak" however the bundle isn't on low: Birthday Fiesta Bundle Yea that Better Together (the wording for Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday in the last 2 cards, is c

And another baby card....

Image
Hi Everyone, Well this time I thought I'd make up a "pastels" baby card, at least it can be used for a boy or girl this one!  Who doesn't love this cute Baby Bear Stamp set ?  I'm hoping he continues into the next annual catalogue, all will be revealed on 11th April when the retiring list comes out!  I really like the way you can cut out the bow with the Holly Berry Builder Punch (yes I could hand cut but isn't it so much nicer to have an implement do it for you? lol)  I've also used the largest Lots of Labels framelit die , which the teddy fits into nicely. Oh and for the background for teddy, I've cut a mask of the teddy which I laid over him (after I realised that the So Saffron colour would show up over top of him - oops!) and used one of the Gorgeous Grunge Stamps .  It looked a bit boring plain! Hope this inspires you to create, God Bless love Heather xox

Global Design Project (GDP081)

Image
Hi Everyone, I keep meaning to join in the Global Design Project, and by the time I know it, the week has gone... again! So this time I'm hoping to get in on the act with this card, I've created it for friends we know who've just had a baby boy, bet you can't guess his name - lol! The brief is a colour combo this time, Night of Navy,  White and a free colour Here we are my creation! those who know me will know I'm not a traditional light blue and light pink baby card person, so this palette suited me well for this card  Not sure it shows up terribly well, but I've used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to create the name, then sponged/daubed the Night of Navy to 1/2 way up (I love this graduated colour look), I've used some of the beautiful Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper in the background. Then the little teddy out of the Bookcase Builder Stamp set, and also the saying from Baby Bear Stamp set .  The extra colour I've used is the Si

But Wait there's more Bigshot creations.....

Image
Hi Everyone, At the end of the last post I did say I'd be adding another one using up some of the bits that we created the other day (admittedly a couple of these are ones I'd created before the class, but as they Oooh'd and Ahhh'd over them appropriately, I thought I'd best share with the wider world too 😁 First up using the Butterflies Thinlits dies . All these cards use the partial cutting technique. and this one uses the StarBlast Edgelits   I did take another photo closeup of the die cut bit, here it is! It's made up as an Easel Card, so the die cut pops out of the top (might need to create a stamp for this one too, as I did think it would look pretty cool with the die cut stamped into the gap on the card!).... thinking on that one......! Moving onto this last card to show you today, again using the Butterflies thinlit die , as a partial cut I've added silver foil cardstock behind it and I'm not sure the photos really do it

Making the Most of Your Bigshot (creations)

Image
Hi everyone, as promised here are some of the creations I've made up with the techniques I am teaching at the "Making the most of your Bigshot" Class  These first 2 cards show partial embossing techniques, funny thing with this first one, is that I'd chosen the Holly Embossing folder, so then it was blue! Umm wasn't too sure about a blue Christmas card like this, however the holly really isn't appropriate for anything other than Christmas! So I added the Seasonal Bells Stamp set and the Bell Punch .  Then when I was making it I had to grab a new sheet of grid paper for underneath (and I usually reuse the ones from class).  And I have to show you the photo I took as I discovered that I had Christmas sentiment already stamped on the grid paper, it made me laugh, as lets face it April isn't the usual time to create Christmas cards :) so hopefully you can see the sentiment under my card says "Warm heartfelt greetings for a Very Merry Christmas"

Making the most of your Bigshot Class

Image
Hi Everyone, I did the first "Making the most of your Bigshot" Class on Wednesday morning, and there are 2 more in May - Wed 10th (evening) and Sunday 28th (afternoon). I thought I'd share a couple of the photos from the day on Wednesday (because I actually remembered to take some at the end - lol) So here are the 2 lovely ladies holding up some of their creations! they are both holding up their die Partial cut's, check out the next blog post (hopefully coming tomorrow) for the photos of creations I've made with some of the techniques we tried out. This is one of the things I show at the class, how to elongate a die cut, the "official box" is the smaller one on the right :)  If you would like to book in for either of my Bigshot classes in May, you will need to reserve your space with a $5 deposit - ask me for more details (the numbers are limited) Do check out my next blog post for some more inspiration God Bl
